Using a discount code

John Mc -

How do I enter a discount code?

Discount and voucher codes are entered on the shopping cart page. This is the penultimate page in the order process - if you've reached the shipping and payment page (with spaces for you to enter billing, shipping and payment details, then you've gone too far - just use the back button on your browser to return to the cart).

There is a space under the order summary for the code to be entered. Don't forget to click on the "Apply Coupon" link!

You should now see the coupon box change to a green message detailing the discount, and the value included in the sub-total to the right:

You can now click the "Secure Checkout" button to proceed with the order.

What does this error message mean?

If the discount is not applied as above, you will see one of two error messages.

Discount Code Expired/Unrecognised.

This means that the system is not able to accept the code as it is entered. Either it has expired (check the validity, most codes will run for a short time only) or it has been entered incorrectly (most codes are issued by email, so it may be best to copy and paste it to ensure that there are no errors).

This code is not applicable to the items in your cart.

Some codes can only be used to purchase a specific item or range of items. If you see this error message, then you do not have an item in the cart that corresponds to the code that has been entered. For example, you may have original (OEM) cartridges in the cart, and a code that is valid against the compatible or remanufactured versions.
